With a waste gate youll need to add it 100 millimeters for every meter of drop add a valve to release this during first rain manually giving you fresh water entering water tank

With you guttering because your under 6 meters i would rivet the joiners . If you were over 6 meters I would add an expansion joint But your fine but rivet it or youll have leaks next year .
